This is a blog started by a recent St. Cloud State University graduate, Benjamin Seghers. He earned his B.S. is international business with a in minor economics, but his interests are far-ranging. Most topics you will find probably will have to do with foreign policy, economics, American politics, philosophy, or things that go on around campus.
The highfalutin’ name of this blog comes from a twist of SCSU Scholars, a different blog by an SCSU professor that sometimes expresses decidedly different viewpoints. With some forethought, I probably could have come up with a better name for this blog.
In any case, it gets the general point across.
I certainly invite any other member of SCSU, regardless of their views or opinions, to join me in writing articles that may be of interest to the SCSU community and beyond. To be able to get more posters to get this blog really active, even if they represent dissenting views, would be great. It’s my belief that all opinions should be heard and what better way to do it than with an active blog on topics that the SCSU community cares about? If you don’t wish to join me in making posts, feel free to at least post some comments! I love getting comments (positive or negative), and are always a great guide for me. I look forward to your contributions.

Hi Benjamin thanks for writing such interesting and informative articles. How about focusing on the US Afghan War on Terror in your blog.
Yes, I’ll try to touch on that in near future. Thanks for your comment.
Sorry it took so long, but I did just make a post about the Afghanistan War. I looked at it from a moral perspective (specifically in terms of moral universalism). Perhaps I the future I may look at it from a legal or practical perspective as well.
International Business is a great major! Have you studied anywhere?

Yes, it’s a very interesting major. I’ve studied just in the United States at St. Cloud State University. Perhaps I’ll do further studies outside of the States (if I decide to continue my studies after I graduate in 2010).
I would definitely recommend it if you get the opportunity! It’s worth it. Do you have any place in particular you are emphasizing with your international business major?

My emphasis is on Latin America (and, to a lesser degree, the Third World in general). I’ve still got to freshen up on my Spanish though.
That’s great! My second major was Spanish. One of the things that really helped me was when my church paired me up with a couple of people who spoke Spanish as a first language. We’d get together during the week and speak Spanish for half the time and English the other half to help each other out.
It really helped me learn Spanish faster when I was actually forced to speak it, and I got to meet people from all around the world.
I hope you make it to a Latin American country.
